New Membership Process takes up to 5 Weeks
New members should know that the normal process of accepting new members can take up to 5 weeks to complete. After a new member fills out the application and pay their dues, their application must be approved by vote at the next scheduled Berrien County Sportsman’s Club, Inc. Board of Directors monthly meeting. The Board of Directors meetings are currently scheduled for the second Monday of each month during the year.
New or Lapsed Memberships
Membership dues for the first time new members or memberships that have lapsed for more than on year will be prorated by the month they apply for membership according to the table on the left.
Note: All renewals are $160 minus any applicable credit certificates. Please see below for more information regarding credit certificates.
Membership Specials
Fair Special Membership
A “Fair Special” membership will be given for any NEW member who signs up during the months of August or September and shall include the remainder of the current year and all of the next year. Dues will be $180.00.
End-of-year Special
An “End-of-year Special” membership will be given for any NEW member who signs up during the months of October, November, or December and shall include the remainder of the current year and all of the next year. Dues will be $165.00.
Special Assessments
Any “Special Assessments” that may be required at any time are not pro-ratable and must be included as part of the cost of membership for any new member.
Earn Credit Toward Membership
You can earn credit toward next year’s membership in three ways:
- Earn certificates worth $1.00 for each hour of service up to a MAXIMUM of $80.00 per family member to help defray the cost of next year’s membership by performing volunteer work during “qualified” work details and events. Worked hours must be approved by the Club Event Chairperson. Adult and youth members qualify.
- Earn certificates up to a MAXIMUM of $35.00 off your next year’s membership dues by serving as a Club Officer, or a Club Director, where you are actively engaged in club business for the full year.
- Earn certificates up to a MAXIMUM of $25.00 off your next year’s membership dues by serving as a Committee Chairperson where you are actively engaged in club business for the full year. (Examples: Archery Chairperson, Membership Chairperson, Skeet & Trap Chairperson, etc.)
Note: Only one per person, Officer /Director, or Chairperson.
